This QuickForm Promissory Note documents the terms on which money owed by one party will be paid to the creditor holding the Note. The borrower may have received cash, may be purchasing goods or services on credit or may owe past due invoices.

The borrower signs the Promissory Note promising to pay the lender the outstanding debt. You can make the debt payable with or without interest, in a single lump sum or under an installment "payment plan" over time.

The Promissory Note can be signed by one borrower, co-signed jointly by two primary obligors (e.g., by a husband and wife, two business partners).

You can add a third party who will guarantee the Note. This guarantor agrees to pay all or part of the debt (as specified) if there is a default by the primary signer or co-signers.

Promissory Notes can help collect old invoices. In exchange for additional time to pay or other concessions, the lender can use the Note to improve its legal position. If borrower then defaults, the lender will be in a stronger position to collect (optional "confession of judgment" clauses can help expedite collection).

Note: this Promissory Note is for unsecured debts in which no property is pledged as collateral.
